Hey guys! After I asked you all last week on snapchat what you’d like me to write about in my next blog post, most of you chose my ‘Top 5 Must- Haves’ based on my current favourite make-up products. Well, that’s exactly what I’m going to do today!
Starting with my holy grail of eyebrow products- it’s Benefits Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil. If you’re anything like me and have a patience level ranging from 1- non-existent, this is the eyebrow product for you. Having tried several gel, powder and even other varieties of pencil products and having little luck, I had virtually given up hope. That was until I popped into the lovely girls at the Benefit stand at Debenhams in Newbridge and they tested the Goof Proof pencil out on me. It’s handy non- sharpen tip and super blendable formula make it virtually glide on to the brow, with the distinct diamond shape ensuring you get the perfect shape every time. It does exactly what it says, and truly is FOOL PROOF! It retails at €26.00 and is available online from Debenhams or at any Benefit counter. I can assure you it’s worth every cent.
Next up I’m talking primer. My current go-to is Flormar’s Illuminating Make-Up Base. Having heard so much about it, and considering it’s extremely affordable price of €9.95, I had to give it a shot. I would very easily liken it to other, more expensive brands that claim to do the same and have to say I was extremely impressed. It gives the skin a gorgeous smooth finish and my makeup stays in place all day. Definitely a must have for those on a budget. I got mine from Cara Pharmacy online.
Now let’s move onto foundation- every girls best friend. Of course the foundation best suited to an individual is largely based on their skin type and coverage type they need, and not every one you try is going to suit your needs based on different skin types etc. I’ve tried loads of foundations and I do have a few favourites, but I always tend to alternate between them depending on whether I’m looking for full coverage or not etc. Recently I found all of my current faves a little heavy for this warmer weather so I went on the hunt for something new. Having heard so much about Loreal’s True Match, I decided to give it a try. For the extremely reasonable price of €14.99, it’s definitely worth trying out and I can honestly say it’s a great foundation. It’s a really buildable formula so can be used as a high coverage foundation if needed, which with plenty of freckles is definitely something I like in a foundation. Then for hotter days where you only want minimal cover a small amount of foundation goes a long way and gives a lovely dewy finish to the skin. If it lasts me 8 hour shifts in a busy retail environment without sweating off and going patchy, it gets my vote- and that’s exactly what it does. I picked mine up in Boots. (PS. There’s 3 for 2 on l’oreal products RIGHT NOW so it’s the perfect time to pick one up for yourself! You can thank me later.)
At number 4, I’m talking mascara. Having heard rave reviews about Rimmel’s newest formula that claims to be ‘anti- clump’ and ‘stays fresh from first to last use’, I had to try it out. Another bargain retailing at €11.99 from Boots Pharmacies, it’s the Volume Shaker Mascara. It’s shaker technology ensures a smooth formula on the brush with no clumps, as it promises. It also gives great volume to the lash as the name suggests, and I find it doesn’t go flaky throughout the day as some mascaras tend to do. Thumbs up from me.
Last but definitely not least, it’s eyeliner. Although I will forever be a lover of Inglot’s Gel Eyeliner in 77, I recently went on the hunt for a liquid eyeliner to test out that ‘perfect flick’. While browsing my local Penneys, I spotted the Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner for the bargain price of €3.99, so decided to give it a shot. It has a handy felt tip applicator for applying it with and has a super jet black colour which I love. I would definitely recommend to anybody looking to test out their eyeliner skills, especially for it’s great price of less than a fiver- you really can’t go wrong!
That’s all from me! Hope you enjoyed reading this month’s ‘Top- Five.’
