My Current Skincare Routine

Hello Everyone,
Happy Wednesday . Last week on my snap chat I had a lot of questions about my current facial routine. I briefly went through the current products iv been using over on my snap chat but I also said I’d do up a post.
So first things first, I have combination skin. It’s mainly a combination of oily -normal.
Oily only around my T-zone and normal everywhere else. But in the winter my T- zone area gets really dry, so I ensure I am exfoliating well.
So today I am going to talk you through my current skincare routine. I am 5 weeks postpartum today and several weeks before having my little boy I noticed my skin becoming very tired and dull looking.
I had picked up and been using The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask and remembered seeing another mask which is the Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask so I popped in and picked this one up.
These are masks so I would use each one once as week as each have different functions to the face.

The Himalayan Charcoal Mask €25

If you have oily skin like me then this mask is going to be your new best friend. A sell out product for The Body Shop it’s a must have product for oiliness breakouts , large pores etc . This is the perfect at home facial.
This mask is :
100% veganA Tingling charcoal clay mask

Oil absorbing

It applies as a dark green colour and I leave it to set, on the face for 15- 20 minutes. I know it’s ready to be removed, when it turns a pasty green colour.
This mask is an invigorating charcoal face mask. It draws out all impurities and refines the appearance of pores for healthy-looking skin with a glow that shows.

The Amazonian Acai Mask €25

If your skin need a boost of life. It’s feeling dull and looking tired like mine was I would highly recommend this mask.

It also is  :

100% vegan

For skin that needs a fast recharge from stress.

Easy to use at home.

Infused with acai berry, guarana and Community Trade babassu oil all from Brazil so this smells amazing.

I apply this and leave on the skin for 10-20 minutes, then I plash some water to my face and massage the mask in to exfoliate . I then run a face cloth under Luke warm water and remove the excess product.
Now onto tiny normal daily skincare. Weather I wear makeup or not I will still follow these steps.

I will always double cleanse my face, always, one cleanse is not enough.
My first cleanse is as always with the Garnier Miceller water. I find this so gentle and easy on the skin and most importantly, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight and dry after. This will remove the bulk of the product for me.

I will then go in with my second cleanse using the Kinvara Absolute Cleansing oil. This is an amazing hot cloth cleanser. I apply 2 pumps of this into my hand and massage it into my face, removing all my makeup with a luke warm face cloth. This will thoroughly remove all the excess makeup and leave my skin feeling so fresh and soft.

Eye serum

It’s only lately I have started to use an eye serum. During my pregnancy I started to notice the dark circles under my eyes a lot more. I suffered from insomnia whilst pregnant so i was putting it down to  pregnancy and tiredness. So I had purchased the Kinvara Eye Wow serum but completely forgot all about it until going through my skincare range one day.

The Eye Wow Serum is a metal rollerball product, which I love because it only disperses the exact amount of product needed, to the eye area with one roll. The skin under the eye it so thin and delicate hence why wrinkles always appear here first . The last thing we need to do is over expose this are to excesses amount of product. Its a gel like consistency so I just apply it and allow it to dry on its own. Applying it morning and evening.

I have noticed a huge difference under the eye area, since starting to use is product. My eyes automatically feel more awake after applying the serum. But more importantly I have no dark circles my skin under the eye feels in great condition.

Face Serum

Again I have only started to use a face serum in my skincare routine and with that said I absolutely can’t believe I never did to be honest. I have been using the Kinvara 24hr Rosehip Face Serum. When I think of face serum, I think of oils and rightly so this lemon scented oil is a godsend. Most people will think by using an oil on the skin, your skin will be oily. But that’s not the case at all. By using oil-based products, the oil attracts oil and can dissolve sebum, grease or makeup without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

I Apply 1-2 pumps to cleansed skin morning and evening. You can apply it on its own or layered under your moisturiser.

Lastly we come to moisturiser and I have been using the Kinvara Active Rosehip Day Cream. The rosehip face cream is packed with hyaluronic acid, a substance which is found naturally in our cells , which declines in quantity with age. Hyaluronic acid behaves like a ‘filler’ to increase volume and fullness to the face. Rosehip and thistle are both high in omega fatty acids, vitamins A & E and are absorbed quickly into the skin. Rosehip is proven in cell regeneration and reducing the appearance of scars.

I absolutely love this moisturiser. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and full of volume. Its absorbs really quick into the skin, leaving a matte finish. I apply it morning and evening to completely clean skin.

As a fully qualified makeup artist, I can’t stress enough the importance of a good skincare routine in order for your makeup to last on your skin. Skincare is key to the perfect , flawless makeup look.

On a daily basis I get asked questions like why doesn’t my foundation sit well on my skin etc ?. This all bubbles back to skincare. With that said your skincare products need to be for the type of skin your have. Weather you have oily skin , dry skin, etc. You should have your skin analysed by a professional first before purchasing any skincare products. Because in hindsight you could have oily skin but might be using products for dry skin.

On that note I will leave it there for now.
