Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

This weeks blog post is all about contouring and highlighting back in January I picked up this Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette. Since then I have used it nearly every single day to trial if out.
This is a set of four highlight powders and four contour powders. I liked that two of the four highlighters had some shimmer to them and the contour shades are completely matte.
I purchased my Palette in my local pharmacy in Balbriggan for €25. Most stockists of Nyx will stock this palette and Boots.

Highlighting Powders

Ice Queen is described as a “pearly pale white.” It’s a very light, cool-toned white with a frosted finish. It blends out really easy and gives the perfect highlight without being to over the top. This is perfect for some natural daytime glow. I wouldn’t use it on a night out as I just didn’t find it was pigmented enough.
Soft Light is described as a “matte nude.” It’s a very light, white-beige that is neutral in undertone. The texture was really soft, smooth and easy to apply.
Cream is described as a “matte soft yellow.” It’s a soft, buttery yellow with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had great pigmentation with a really soft, smooth consistency that was easy to blend and apply to the skin. I love a banana shade under the eye and really felt the pigment from cream was perfect.
Nectar is described as a “pearly soft peach.” It’s a yellowed peach with warm undertones with a small amount of shimmer. The texture again was soft and blendable. I used this to apply a small amount of highlight to the inner corners of my eyes and on the top of my cheekbones to give a subtle glow.

Contour Powders

Tan is described as a “matte soft brown with slight red undertones.” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. It again had great pigmentation with a smooth texture.
Toffee is described as a “matte neutral brown.” It’s a muted, medium brown with warm, yellow undertones. The colour payoff was perfect, while the texture was smooth and soft.
Sculpt is described as a “matte taupe.” It’s a muted, medium-dark brown with a hint of grey undertones. This is my favourite of the palette to contour. It had amazing colour payoff with a soft, silky texture. This shade blended amazing on my skin.
Hollow is described as a “matte deep brown.” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm, reddish-orange undertones and a matte finish.
After a full month of really using the palette I absolutely hands down love it.
I find it’s a great selection of shades for everyone and a little definitely goes a long way so don’t use to much.
