Hi Everyone ,
This weeks Blog post is all about my recent purchase of Buff & Blend Brushes .
So let me give you a little bit of info on Buff & Blend. Owner and Founder Nicola Costigan is a well known Makeup Artist in the Makeup Industry. She has a following of nearly 20,000 on Facebook and her work speaks for itself.
Nicolas concept of the name Buff & Blend was always something she new she wanted to progress to a brand. So she wanted a name that she could carry through to her products not just to advertise her makeup.
That been said the Buff & Blend Brushes where born and released a little under 5 months ago. Nicolas hard work and dedication definitely show through on these brushes. Since releasing her brush range which can be bought as a set or individually Nicola has now released lashes which I have yet to try but from what I have heard and seen they are amazing.
Nicolas aim for her brand was to create high quality products but at a reasonable , affordable cost and that she definitely did.
I purchased the Pretty In Pink Brush Set which is all of the brushes for €85 inc postage. The Brush set contains 8 Brushes , 4 Face Brushes and 4 eye brushes. The Handles on the brushes are a little shorter than normal but not as short as a travel set. Perfect for your Makeup bag and the brushes won’t get damaged this way.
When it comes to Makeup brushes I am very critical. I find it hard to get a full brush set with all brushes living up the standard but with this brush set it’s a completely different case.
If you would like to have a nose or treat yourself you can do here
Here’s whats included in the set :
Large Powder brush(BB01)
Petite Pencil Brush(BB02)
Buffing Foundation Brush(BB03)
Mini Buffing brush(BB04)
Angled Powder brush(BB05)
Precise Blending Brush(BB06)
Large Blending brush(BB08)
Angled Liner Brush(BB10)
So lets get into each brush.
Large Powder Brush (BB01)
When it comes to my large powder brushes I love my fluffy brushes. The BB01 however is a lot denser than any of my other brushes I use for powder. When applying the powder with the BB01 I got a much more flawless finish and found the powder was really pushed into my skin. The brush hairs are also synthetic and so soft.
Individually this brush is €13.
Petite Pencil Brush (BB02)
A pencil brush is the one brush I could usually do without as I just find most iv tried pinch or hurt my eyes until I tried the BB02. The hairs on this are brilliant for buffing out the eyeshadow under your eye and yet they are soft enough that it doesn’t irritate the eye either.
I also find it great for applying shadow to the crease of the eye area ready for blending.
The BB02 is 100% cruelty free Italian Goat hair.
Individually it’s €10.
Buffing Foundation Brush (BB03)
The BB03 is my favourite from the set even though I love them all. The brush is so dense making it perfect for buffing any foundation into your skin weather it be liquid, creams etc.
The brush is so dense but glides on the skin giving an even flawless finish.
The brush is domed shaped and the hairs are synthetic.
Individually this brush is €15.
Mini Buffing Brush (BB04)
I use this for buffing in my concealer under my eyes. Sometimes I find with brushes they soak up some of the product and I end up not getting enough coverage under my eyes I wanted but this was the perfect little brush for buffing the concealer in and still getting coverage.
You can also use it to apply eyeshadow. The hair is soft synthetic hair an all rounder brush.
Angled Powder Brush (BB05)
This brush has two functions. It can be used for contouring or applying blusher. I find this great for sculpting out the cheek bones as it fits perfectly in the hallows of your cheeks.
This brush again so dense and super soft. It’s 100% Cruelty free Italian Goat hair.
Individually it’s €14.
Precise Blending (BB06)
When it come to my precision fluffy brushes I am very critical as nothing compares to my Mac 217. For years I have never felt any brush did it for me until now the BB06 precisely blends shadows into the socket of the eye for controlled flawless blending.
The BB06 is also 100% cruelty free Italian Goat hair.
Large Blending Brush (BB08)
I can honestly say I have never felt love until I used this brush.
It’s a large tapered blending brush made from 100% cruelty free Italian Goat hair, it’s so soft and dense and blends shadows effortlessly.
If your on a budget and are only after one or two brushes definitely pick this one up.
Individually it’s €14.
Angled Liner Brush (BB10)
The BB10 is synthetic hair its super thin with a precise angle ,ideal for creating winged eyeliner or to define those brows.
Individually it’s €10.
Only time will tell how long the brushes will last, but since purchasing the brushes I have washed mine twice now and they washed really well and the brushes stayed in perfect shape.
If you’re on the hunt for a new brush set, I honestly cannot recommend this brush set enough. Iv been using the brushes now for over a month and cannot fault them in any way at all . Purchasing the brushes over time individually will set you just over €100 inc postage. But by purchasing the set you get them at €85 inc postage.
