Hello Everyone ,
Happy Easter , today’s topic we are talking dupes. Last week over on my snapchat – shapesndshadows , I spoke all about Dupes and one being the Primark Ps Pro Long wear finishing powder being a dupe for the Mac Prep & Prime Translucent Powder.
I have been trailing both products out over the last 5 months to compare them to one another , and while I always knew they where the exact same, it never even entered my mind to check the ingredients in both. It was only I came across a video from Nicola Graham from UR Makeup, on Matte to Metallics Facebook page , detailing that the ingredients where in actual fact very same only for the Primark PS Pro had a bulking agent in theirs.
What is a finishing Powder you may ask ?
Finishing powder is designed to be applied on top of setting powder and all other makeup. Finishing powder helps make the skin look smoother by hiding pores and fine lines.
You’ve probably seen those pictures of celebrities with white, patchy faces. This is where someone used a finishing powder to set makeup rather than as an all over finish.
Mac Prep & Prime Transparent Finishing Powder €26.50.
Ingredients : Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Silica, Mica, Zinc Stearate, Caprylyl Glycol, 1, 2 Hexanediol.
You get 8grams of the Mac Prep & Prime Finishing Powder for €26.50. You can see by the image below the powder is universal and very fine in consistency.
Primark Ps Pro Long Wearing Finishing Powder €5.
Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Silica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite (bulking agent) , Zinc Stearate, Mica ,Caprylyl Glycol, 1.2 Hexanediol.
Synthetic Fluorphlogopite is a bulking agent, which is a fluorine substituted mineral composed of magnesium aluminium silicate sheets, weakly bound together by potassium. Synthetic Fluorphlogopite is used in a wide range of cosmetics and personal care products including bath products, eye makeup, lipstick, face makeup, as well as nail and skin care products.
With the Primark Finishing Powder you get 11grams for €5. You can see by the image below, the consistency is thicker which would be from the Fluorphlogopite.
All in all these powder are the exact same and do the exact same do. The Primark one is the complete dupe for the Mac one and an absolute must for me. So if your looking to save yourself some money head to Primark / Penny’s and pick yours up for only €5.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post,
Until next time,
